It’s a BALL! in 2023 we are changing things up a bit and scheduling the BALL in the FALL! We roll out of Broussard Sports Complex and ride to Morgan City. Crossing the Atchafalaya Basin then cruising along the Mississippi River utilizing as the MRT along the levee tops whenever possible. We will include several plantation tours along the way. Fully supported.

OPTIONS

2-day / Baton Rouge -> NOLA (with shuttle back to BR on Friday)

4-day / Lafayette -> NOLA (with shuttle back to LFT on Friday)

4-day / Baton Rouge -> NOLA + Northshore Loop back to to BR

7-day / Lafayette -> Nola + Northshore Loop to BR (with shuttle back to LFT)

Yes, we’ll bring you and your wheels back to your starting point.

Apps you will need for the ride. Life 360 so we can track everyone and RideWithGPS.com so you can have turn by turn directions. You only need the FREE version of these apps. If you use Strava or any other device or app such as Garmin then you can down load the routes files from RideWtihGPS then upload them into your app or device. The link below for RideWithGPS is to our club account. You will need to create a free account before joining the “Club”

Route:

4 day covering 260 miles of very flat riding.

Monday - Day 1 (79 miles): Depart Broussard at 8:00 AM from the Broussard Sports Complex -701 St Nazaire Rd, Broussard, LA 70518 - You can leave earlier but we will not start running SAG support until 8:00 AM. Destination point is Morgan City. There are 4 hotel options within 2 blocks we will will be at the Holiday Inn Express.

Tuesday - Day 2 (72 miles): Depart Morgan City towards Baton Rouge - L’Auberge Casino & Hotel

Wednesday - Day 3 (75 miles): Depart Baton Rouge - towards LaPlace - Pit Stops: consider lunch at Nobile’s in Lutcher, tour Houma’s House, dinner at Frenier’s Landing (group reservation for 6:30p - 113 Dottie Lane, LaPlace, LA 985-224-2178)

Thursday - Day 4 (47 miles): Depart LaPlace get on the Mississippi River Trail and ride to Audubon Park then through the Garden District to Hilton Garden Inn in New Orleans

Friday - Day 5 (70.4 miles) Depart New Orleans and ride the Tammany Trace to Covington

Saturday - Day 6 (90.6 miles) Depart Covington and back to L’Auberge Casino & Hotel in Baton Rouge

Shuttle SAG Support Plan

We have shuttles to assist you if necessary along the course.

YES - We’ll shuttle you and your bike back to Lafayette or Baton Rouge.

Shuttles from New Orleans to Lafayette/Baton Rouge will start on Friday. We will need to know by April 29th which shuttle you need so that we can plan accordingly.

Shuttle #1 will carry the largest trailer and should include any bike rentals, bikes needing to be shipped or just going back to Lafayette. Departing around 12 PM.

Shuttle #2 Saturday - Exact time TBA - Late afternoon.

Shuttle #3 Sunday - Exact time TBA - Late afternoon.

YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

Support team (SAG) following the riders from Lafayette to NOLA

Snacks during the daily rides (Fruit, pickle juice, beer, water, powerade, misc snacks)

Complimentary beer at the end of each day.

Post ride snack served daily.

Shuttle from ride's end to NOLA Hotel 

Shuttles at the end of the ride from NOLA back to either Lafayette or Baton Rouge. Depending on where the cyclist started.

Still forming Friday afternoon plans & working out all the final details for the event.
